Interview: Liz Milani

I am so excited to have Liz Milani of the Practice Co on the podcast this month. I have been a fan of Liz's writing for a long time now, and find myself continually helped and lifted up by her work. Liz shares with us some parts of the journey she, and her partner Jesse, went on in their own faith and vocations. They walked away from their roles as pastors and a lot of what they had always known. In this conversation, Liz generously lets us in on some of the vulnerabilities of this story, as well as her real life wisdom. We discuss the process of deconstructing what you have always known in your life, to build something more congruent, as well as what to do when the script of your life doesn't match the the truth of your experience. We also discuss the ideas of permission and ownership over your life. We touch on the role of writing and art in our process of becoming, and the role of using your work to address racial injustice. Liz is as kind, warm, inviting, and empowering as her writing. ⁣

⁣Liz Milani is a writer, and the co-creator of the The Practice Co App. She lives for wholehearted, grounded spirituality, and to help people feel free to find God for themselves, in the world, in the lives they have. Liz lives on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia, with her partner, Jesse, and their three kids.
